Ghostly Walk in Esprit Des Bois

We took a walk around Winnipeg’s Exchange district. It is a great location with beautiful architecture and an interesting history. not only is it remembered as being the location of the General Strike of 1919, but is home to ghost signs – old advertisements painted onto the sides of buildings that have been there for decades now.

Regrettably, I found myself floundering on getting proper exposure and composition. I have to keep reminding myself, every failure is a learning opportunity. Though I was noticing that my Ricohflex was having a tendency to pop its back cover open. Perhaps it was time to start looking for a new camera.

The other end of the film is from a walk at Esprit des Bois. It is trail in the south end of Winnipeg where someone had carved beautiful faces into dead trees. We managed to walk it without finding any of the faces. That just means we get to go back!
