We went to Kildonan Park for this shoot in the mid-morning after we awoke to hoar frost. It was a beautiful day to walk the park and we even ventured down onto the Red River.
I also learned that there are several types of frost (Nat Geo has a nice article here on radiation frost, advection frost, window frost and rime frost) and that, apparently, hoar frost gets its name from the hair like crystals that reminded old English speakers of beard hairs. I found that last little tidbit amusing because I am also growing out my winter beard …
… which I now realize may not be on my face by the time this post is published … who would have thought time delay would be so confusing?
